The sound energy is conducted from the point of origin to the painful body regions, where it stimulates cell regeneration and healing, increases blood flow within the affected area, and decreases local factors that can cause pain. Shockwave therapy is most effective when combined with a progressive exercise program to gradually strengthen the local and supporting muscle groups. It is a major advance in effective, safe treatment and has been approved by NICE

If you’re wondering if Pilates is good for you then it’s likely that you’re new to Pilates and you may not fully understand what it is. While the popularity of Pilates has increased in recent years, this method of exercise has actually been around for decades.

Pilates works your whole body

Unlike many forms of exercise, Pilates moves the body in all directions and orientations. This means that in contrast to lifting weights at the gym, which usually works your body in one direction and one plane, Pilates strengthens and mobilises all muscles of the body.

This makes the body universally stronger and can protect it from injury when you happen to suddenly twist or turn in an unusual way. It can also create more balanced and uniform muscles. This makes Pilates a great way to complement and enhance a gym-based workout with weights.

Studies have shown that Pilates improves quality of life by having a positive effect on depression and pain, most notably decreasing back pain.

Sodium hyaluronate (also known as hyaluronic acid or hyaluronan) is a natural substance. It is present in the body wherever moisture is stored or lubrication between layers of tissue is required to eliminate friction.

Examples are the vitreous body of the eye itself, the tear film, the joint cartilage, the synovial fluid in the joints, all the mucuous membranes of the body, but also the basic substance of the skin which consists of up to 55% sodium hyaluronate.

Sodium hyaluronate takes on a variety of functions:

Storage: it absorbs and stores moisture in enormous quantities

Lubrication

Transport medium for nutrients

Filter for inflammatory molecules.

Benefits of SH injections:

An injection of sodium hyaluronate increases the viscosity of the synovial fluid, restoring its lubricating, shock-absorbing and filtering properties.*

In addition, it re-establishes the protective coating of hyaluronan over the inner surface of the joint and increases the scavenging of free radicals.*

As a result of these changes, sodium hyaluronate reduces inflammation of the synovial membrane.*

The direct effects of exogenous hyaluronan (i.e. injections of artificial sodium hyaluronate) cannot account for its long-term benefits, as it is cleared from the joint within a few days. It appears that, through its direct effects, exogenous hyaluronan restores the ability of the joint to produce its own hyaluronan and thus returns it to a state of homeostasis (i.e. stable condition) that persists for several months.*

Evidence exists suggesting that exogenous hyaluronan may slow the destruction of cartilage*.

Steroid Injections (Cortisone)

Cortisone injections can help relieve pain, swelling and irritation in a specific area of your body. They're most often injected into joints — such as the ankle, elbow, hip, knee, shoulder, spine or wrist. Even the small joints in the hands or feet might benefit from cortisone injections. This type of treatment delivers a high dose of medication directly to the problem spot in the body. Cor... Read More

This type of treatment delivers a high dose of medication directly to the problem spot in the body. Corticosteroids help reduce inflammation, because of this, they are helpful in treating painful chronic conditions like tendinitis or bursitis.

Cortisone injections are often used after more conservative treatments have failed, or not been 100% successful in completely removing your pain.

What is special about The Treatment Table is that we have a license to prescribe medication. So unlike other private clinics we do not need the GP to sign off on our treatments, we can prescribe, pick up from the chemist and administer.

What are vitamin injections?

Vitamin injections are an increasingly popular health trend among individuals looking for quick and effective ways to get their daily dose of vitamins. Vitamin injections are designed to provide a boost of essential nutrients and minerals that can be absorbed more readily by the body than by taking a pill or consuming animal foods or other sources of vitamins. With vitamin injections, individuals can potentially experience more energy, improved cognitive performance, better sleep patterns, and improved quality of life.

The use of vitamins in the cosmetic industry is becoming increasingly popular. Vitamins are known for their health and beauty benefits, and they are now being used in the cosmetics industry to produce healthier, more effective products.

Vitamin injections are a concentrated dose of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants delivered directly into the bloodstream through needle injections. This allows the body to absorb the ingredients more quickly and effectively, which can have a number of beneficial effects on the skin and hair.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture has long been recognized as an effective treatment for chronic pain. In 2012, a study found acupuncture was better than no acupuncture or simulated acupuncture for the treatment of four chronic pain conditions:

Back and neck pain

Osteoarthritis (your doctor may call it “degenerative joint disease” or “wear and tear arthritis)

Chronic headache

Shoulder pain
